Bismuth oxychloride was prepared according to the following method:[18] Initially, 4.85 g of Bi (NO3)3·5H2O was added to 100 mL of C2H4O: water solution (1:1 v/v ratio) and kept under stirring at room temperature for 30 min. Then 10 mL of CH4N2S solution (1.0 mol/L) and 0.01 mol KCl were added under stirring. Finally, 100 mL of 2% (v/v) CH3COOH was added dropwise. The solution was kept under stirring for 1 h. The final product was separated by vacuum filtration and dried at 70 °C overnight.
