Cerebrolysin has the ability to penetrate BBB. Cbl plays an important role in the continuous protection against neurodegeneration via neurotrophic factor and Shh (sonic hedgehog) signaling pathways. Also, neurotrophic and nerve growth factors in its composition promote cell division cycle and act as anti-oxidants [12]. This may explain the microscopic findings in Group IV.
