A daily timetable was drawn up that matched her levels of activity at the time, with careful structuring to spread activity and rest across the day. Daily physiotherapy was included, involving stretches and some gentle muscle-strengthening exercises. Time with a psychologist was included, initially for only 15 minutes at a time. Bryony managed to cope with this baseline programme, and subsequently small increases in activity and decreases in rest were made each week. Mortal births took place in a part of the home separate from the rest of the household. Ostraca (tiles) which depict the birth bower show a plant which is similar to birthwort (Aristolochia clematis); extract of birthwort was once used to induce labor. Some commentators believe the plant to be bryony, which contains purgative juice. Birth amulets or magical ointments were placed on ‘the head of the woman who is giving birth’ (Barnes, 1956 p. 28). Midwives attended during the labor and offered remedies of honey and fenugreek for oral consumption or vaginal suppositories which could include beer and incense. Castoreum (musk, from the perineal sacs of the beaver) is mentioned by Ebbell in his 1937 translation of the papyri and the descendant midwives of the Ancient Egyptians used castoreum to expedite labor.

Bryonia multiflora roots were obtained from Dr. Behcet İNAL from Siirt University (Turkey), and Plant material was identified as Bryonia multiflora Boiss. & Heldr by plant diagnostics Dr.Mehmet FİDAN from Siirt University, Flora, and Fauna Center. Plant material was collected in 2019 from Mardin city, which is located in the southeast of Turkey. For extraction, 500 grams of the B. multiflora plant root were kept in a desiccator for one week with Hexane, chloroform, and Ethylacetate respectively, and filtered and placed in balloons. Solvents were evaporated with the aid of an evaporator and then weighed. The ethyl acetate extract, whose activity was determined, yielded 5,789 grams. 6.5 mg of this extract was taken, and 6.5 ml of Methanol + chloroform was added, then it was passed through a 0.22 Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) membrane and taken into a vial.
