The sole order Geplafuvirales of the Repensiviricetes class involves two families, Geminiviridae and Genomoviridae, and 24 genera and 757 species altogether. According to the current ICTV reports (Brown et al. 2012; Zerbini et al. 2017), the Geminiviridae members are plant pathogens with DNA genomes of 2,500–5,200 bases and very interesting virions with a unique particle morphology. Thus, the geminid virions are twinned (geminate) incomplete icosahedra, T = 1, 22 × 38 nm in size, containing 110 identical coat protein molecules organized as 22 pentameric capsomers, at last in the case of maize streak virus (MSV) from the Mastrevirus genus.

Plants play a crucial role in almost all ecosystem worldwide [1,2]. When the plants are infected with a virus, the infection might have an effect on both the plants themselves and the ecosystem that plats depend on [3]. From those plants, Maize (Zea mays L.), which is one of the most economically principal staple food crops for a large population in the world [4,5] mainly the underdeveloped African countries [4,6]. It is infected with many viral diseases. From these diseases, Maize streak virus is one of the most significant and widespread of maize that occur in Africa and it is found under the genus Mastrevirus [7].
