Although orally administered quercetin was found osteogenic in OVX and GC-treated rats, yet the flavonoid like all others in this category suffers from poor oral bioavailability. To circumvent this limitation, the delivery of quercetin through the skin was tried. In OVX rats, phytosome-based encapsulation of quercetin decreased bone remodelling rate (assessed by serum ALP) over the free quercetin which suggested the potential application of such a strategy for enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of quercetin (Abd El-Fattah et al., 2017). Moreover, skin permissive quercetin-loaded transferosomes in chitosan films were designed, which when applied on hind limb of rats treated with GC, displayed reduced osteoblast apoptosis, a decline in osteoclastogenesis, and increases in femoral bone length, weight, thickness and density over the GC alone group (Pandit et al., 2020). These reports raise the possibility of topical use of quercetin for the treatment of diseases related to bone loss.

ALT is the biomarker most often used to detect hepatoxicity. This is a liver enzyme that plays an important role in amino acid metabolism and gluconeogenesis. This enzyme catalyzes the reductive transfer of amino groups from alanine to α-ketoglutarate to produce glutamate and pyruvate. Increased levels of this enzyme will be released in circulation during damage to liver cells. On the other hand, AST is another liver enzyme that helps in producing/forming proteins. This enzyme catalyzes the reductive transfer of amino groups from aspartate to α-ketoglutarate to produce oxaloacetate and glutamate. Aside from the liver, AST is also found in other organs such as the heart, muscles, and kidneys. Injury to this organ tissue can cause an increase in AST levels in the blood. AST also helps in detecting hepatocellular necrosis and acute injury to the liver. (Pandit et al. 2012, Singh et al. 2011).

As death approaches, the Hindu patient will be helped by the presence of a priest (pandit) who can help with personal acts of worship and preparation for death, which is usually accepted philosophically, in keeping with Hindu teachings.

Mortality rate was reported in all seven retrospective studies. Pandit et al. (2016) and Hamidi et al. (2019) did not state the timeframe for mortality [10,13]. All other retrospective studies used inpatient mortality rates. The LOS was reported by five studies [12–15,19]. Total complication rate was reported by four studies [10–13]. Huntington et al. (2016) reported the complication rate as overall minor complications, and major complications [14]. Of the secondary outcomes, wound problems were recorded by Galandiuk et al. (2006), Pandit et al. (2016), and Pandit et al. (2019); anastomosis leak by Galandiuk et al. (2006) and Pandit et al. (2016); and return to theater by Galandiuk et al. (2006), Ibrahim et al. (2018), and Udayasiri et al. (2020) [10,12–15,19]. (Table 10)

It would be medical negligence if the attending physician blamed the patient for their infection not responding to antibiotic treatment (Pandit & Pandit, 2009). Further, that malpractice would continue and be made potentially worse and possibly more resistant, by offering the same recycled treatment that has proven to be inadequate (Patterson Silver Wolf & Gold, 2020). Treatment-as-usual services must disregard the accepted belief system that it takes several treatment attempts before patients fully recover (Kelly, Greene, Bergman, White, & Hoeppner, 2019; Mcquaid et al., 2017). This belief is especially troubling given that treatment yielding higher abstinence rates does not seem to be available to everyone at equal rates. For example, physicians suffering from SUDs are offered treatment that results in about an 80% total abstinent success rate 5 years post treatment (McLellan, Skipper, Campbell, & DuPont, 2008). Further, when physicians experience a relapse, the treatment plan is adjusted rather than recycling the physician back through the same treatment proven to be ineffective (DuPont, McLellan, Carr, Gendel, & Skipper, 2009).
Symptoms experiences and attitudes towards menstruation among adolescent girls
Published in Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 2021
MSQ mean score was calculated as 69.84 ± 15.48, item mean score as 3.17 ± 0.70, negative effects sub-dimension as 3.14 ± 0.73, menstrual pain symptoms as 3.51 ± 0.86 and coping methods sub-dimension as 2.60 ± 1.11. In the study conducted by Güvenç et al. (2014), the item mean score of the scale was found to be 2.65 ± 0.79 and the sub-dimension averages were found to be very low compared to the results of the research. It appears that girls participating in the study have many complaints and suffer from many menstrual symptoms. In the study as it was indicated in the literature, despite having regular menstruation, it was observed that abdominal pain and cramps and back pain were the most common somatic symptoms and fatigue, nervousness, tension, impatience and depressiveness as emotional symptoms (Taşcı 2006; László et al. 2008; Wong 2011; Busari 2012; Pandit et al. 2014; Rabiepour et al. 2017). The study revealed that somatic symptoms were more common than emotional symptoms.
