In the hospitals, special equipment like gowns, masks, gloves are used with mechanical barriers, laminar airflow, and positive and negative pressure rooms. Temporary or dedicated isolation units may be prebuilt in the response of epidemic emergency [78]. In the hospitals, the aerosols transmission of disease can be limited by designing an isolation ward with negative pressure. Early detection of disease in a patient might have effective results in controlling the spread of COVID-19. HCWs are also affected by infected persons even if they take all the necessary preventive measures to limit transmission. If a medical worker gets a contagious disease, the transmission may occur to coworkers and patients living in close contact. Hence, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has developed guidelines [79]. The Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention has released guides for HCWs to limits their exposure to the disease.

Radioiodine is administered orally. Prior to administration, the total body iodine pool is depleted with a 2-week low-iodine diet and the TSH level is elevated by stopping thyroid hormone replacement; these steps encourage radioiodine uptake into thyrocytes. Administration of radioiodine requires care on an isolation ward and avoidance of contact with people for 14–25 days after treatment. There are short-term implications for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility.

For cohort nursing, the following are advised: Cohort nursing would be authorised by the IPC team.Individual movements for non-clinical reasons should be avoided if possible.Designated staff should be allocated to care for the cohorted individuals. If there is no designated isolation ward, use a clearly defined bay within a ward, ideally with doors and with access to designated washing/toilet facilities. In Nightingale style wards or open units such as critical care, cohorting in a clearly defined area of the unit may be used.

Among the memes referencing sexual and gender minorities, the healthcare-related meme is the least mentioned. Expression of gratitude towards healthcare professionals and this community is limited probably due to the perceived binary gender roles associated with frontline workers. Also, the low association of healthcare memes and sexual and gender minorities may reflect the general treatment they receive as a community from healthcare services. Many countries lack the culturally sensitive preparation for COVID-19 care for this community in the hospital. For example, it is recommended to have a separate isolation ward and other treatment facilities; however, most facilities lack even the basic necessities such as a separate toilet. This non-inclusive approach towards their needs may negatively affect the way the sexual and gender minorities feel.
