The ambient temperature was chosen as 827, 806, 787, 768, 745, 725, 707 K to mimic the cold start in-cylinder environment with different injection timing, different environmental temperatures, cycles at different starting stages, and engines with different compression ratios. The injection pressure was chosen at 60 MPa, which is a typical level of electronic unit pump used in heavy duty diesel engine. The ambient density was kept at a typical diesel engine TDC cylinder gas level, 13.5 kg/m3.
