In this article, we propose a new monitoring chart where the location parameter and scale parameter are simultaneously monitored. The proposed method is based on a new weighted score test (WST) that is adapted from the score test. The score test is widely used to test the homogeneity of clustered or longitudinal data (Liang 1987; Commenges and Jacqmin-Gadda 1997; Lin 1997; Hall and Praegaard 2001; Zhu and Zhang 2006). The purpose of the score test in this context is to assess the necessity of random effects or latent variables in generalized linear mixed models (GLMMs). The proposed method could be extended to a generalized situation where various types of outcomes modeled by GLMMs can be monitored.
