Parallax scrolling technique belongs to the concept of motion parallax, which allows individuals to view the object on the front-page moving faster than the object on the back page, thereby creating depth of images to users (Wang & Shyu, 2014). Some have suggested that parallax scrolling has advantages in increasing visitor engagement, holding visitor interest, directing the course of visitor attention, making the site easily navigable, storing all content on one single page, and creating a compelling narrative around the brand promoted by the site (Rutherford, 2014).
