PLECS (piecewise linear electrical circuit simulation) is a Simulink add-on for the fast simulation of electrical and power electronic circuits. It allows the seamless integration of electrical circuits in the Simulink environment. Circuits are entered as netlists. They may consist of linear components (RLC), transformers, sources, measurements, and ideal switches. The use of ideal switches is advantageous for the simulation of switched networks such as power electronic systems. Running PLECS blockset requires MATLAB and Simulink on your computer [11].
Fault Ride-Through Capability with Mutual Inductance in Low-Voltage Single-Phase Microgrid
Published in IETE Journal of Research, 2022
A detailed simulation model of the single-phase line diagram presented in Figure 1 is developed by using PLECS toolbox in cooperation with SimPowerSystems toolbox in Simulink. The grid, microgrid DGs, and the mutual inductance parameters as well as the PI-controller’s parameters are all presented in Table 1. The size of the mutual inductance, which is calculated based on equations (15) and (16), is determined by considering that the total load demand is zero and the microgrid supplies its maximum power (scenario 2). The mutual inductance value is calculated based on the calculation of such that After determining the required mutual inductance value, the self-inductances which have the same value are calculated based on eq. (7) to be considering the coefficient of coupling .

Furthermore, symbolic simulators like ISAAC [33], SAPWIN [34,35] and Analog Insyde [32] exist. (In the tutorial [36], the basic principles and the scope of application for symbolic computation have been reviewed.) These simulators do not support fully analytic time-domain transient analysis for switched networks with piecewise-linear models. The simulator for integrated switched-mode power supplies circuits (SISMPSC) [6] is based on symbolic calculus tools and supports symbolic state-space equations (SSSE) but uses numerical methods for solving the systems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Analog Insyde is essentially restricted to symbolically-solved linear circuits using the Laplace transform [32]. A method for the simulation of electronic circuits by state variables decoupling (SECSVD) [26] supports analytic closed-form solutions for restricted input excitation functions but does not support SSSE. For modelling power electronics systems PLECS [7,37] or GeckoCIRCUITS [8] are frequently used, both of which have their origin at ETH Zurich. Further power electronics simulation tools are available such as Saber [38], Simplorer [39], Portunus [40] and PSIM [41]. Further interesting references in the context of power electronics modelling can be found in [27,42–49].
Novel discontinuous PWM for dc-link voltage balancing of multilevel quasi-nested topologies
Published in International Journal of Electronics, 2022
In this section, simulation and experimental results of the quasi-nested topology and the proposed voltage drift compensation strategy are presented. The simulation analysis has been performed using the following simulation tools: MatLab/Simulink® for control design, and PLECS® for modelling of the modulation stage, power converter and load.
