Various PAPR reduction techniques, system performances, and computational complexities were investigated and compared in [19]. The PAPR reduction techniques were categorized into three major groups, namely signal distortion, multiple signaling, and probabilistic and coding techniques. The signal distortion technique includes amplitude CF [20], companding, peak windowing, and peak cancellation methods. The multiple signaling and probabilistic technique comprises constrained constellation shaping, tone reservation, interleaved OFDM, selective mapping (SLM) [21], partial transmit sequence (PTS) [3], tone injection, and active constellation shaping. The coding techniques contain turbo coding, Golay sequences, and linear block coding. The PAPR reduction technique must be adopted carefully by considering various system requirements. Moreover, the criteria for the selection of PAPR reduction technique were discussed in [18].
