Real-World Applications of Data Science
Published in Pallavi Vijay Chavan, Parikshit N Mahalle, Ramchandra Mangrulkar, Idongesit Williams, Data Science, 2022
Email filtering applies specified criteria for incoming emails to protect your network from viruses and possible attacks and avoid overloading servers from unwanted emails. The spam filters detect unsolicited, virus-infected, unwanted emails and stop them from entering your mail inboxes. Following are some example filters that are applied to the email system to determine whether it is spam or not.
Effective detection of COVID-19 outbreak in chest X-Rays using fusionnet model

CXRs help to analyze the lung images of infected patients and the spread of the COVID-19 virus independently [11]. Using CXRs, specialists have also found some infectious symptoms such as exhalation issues, cardiac arrest, improper blood circulation in the lungs, etc. [12]. The present establishment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Machine learning helps identify and prevent dangerous diseases from future risks. Machine learning analyzes the data using algorithms and statistical models that make decisions to minimize human work. Some of the real-time applications used in ML are email filtering, spam protection, personal financing and so on [13]. The growth of machine learning in medical fields is as follows: earlier detection of pneumonia, skin cancer, brain diseases, breast cancer etc., from the images. It is very helpful in communicating with expert radiologists immediately [14]. Under this acquisition, a clear understanding of disease detection can be attained.
A short survey of sustainable material extrusion additive manufacturing
Published in Australian Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2023
(6) Machine learning nowadays has been widely applied in email filtering, computer vision, language translation, and many more daily-life applications. It can also be used to optimise the material extrusion to save time, energy, or materials. Using path planning stage as an example, machine learning can be used to optimise the fabrication paths and find a fabrication path strategy that spends the least time with the shortest total path length.
A method for knowledge integration of ontology-based user profiles in personalised document retrieval systems
Published in Enterprise Information Systems, 2019
The solution of the problem is to provide the personalised documents to support users information needs. Popularity of recommendation systems is wide: from website recommendations, personalised press, recommendations on music, movies, tourism and shopping, email filtering, educational course recommendations, interface recommendations, to negotiation support.
