Heptanol is a member of the higher alcohols family, specifically n-heptyl alcohol, with a chemical formula of CH3(CH2)5CH2OH. It has a density of 824 kg/m3 at 20°C, a boiling point of 176°C, and a melting point of -34.1°C. Furthermore, higher alcohols have been gaining more consideration as an oxygenated fuel for compression ignition CI engines, attributed to their promising features such as higher heating value and elevated CN associated with lower alcohols (Modassir Khan et al. 2022; Nanthagopal et al. 2020). n-Heptanol (C7) is one of the higher alcohols family designated as oxygenated fuel outstanding to its elevated calorific value associated with ethanol, and it can be created from ecological feedstocks (Hosseinzadeh-Bandbafha et al. 2022b).
