Geopotential model

A geopotential model is a mathematical representation of the Earth's gravitational field that is tailored to fit gravity data in a specific geographic region. It can be used to compute grids of gravitational elements relative to a reference ellipsoid, such as the WGS-84. The ultra-high resolution geopotential model SGG-UGM-1 – up to d/o 2159 (Liang 2018) – was utilized to compute grids of the gravitational elements, relative to the WGS-84 reference ellipsoid. Namely, grids of geoidal heights, gravity anomalies and deflection components were computed within the window . This was accomplished as follows (Tscherning et al. 1983, Forsberg and Tscherning 2008)
