PK (2019a, 2019b) provided an online weight percentile calculator for the 18 years or older US males and females based on data from a 2015–2016 health survey by the National Center for Health Statistics. The calculators allow the user to compute the weight percentile based on gender (PK 2019a) or based on age group and gender (PK 2019b). Table 2 illustrates some of the estimated weights and percentiles for US females using the (PK 2019a, 2019b) calculators. It is worth mentioning here that the estimated amounts of calories needed by an adult woman assume the reference woman to be about 57Kg (13th percentile) in weight and 1.63 metres in height (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and U.S. Department of Agriculture 2015), and accordingly estimates of 1,800–2,400 calories per day are needed to maintain calorie balance based on age and activity level.
