MBTsuite automatically generates executable test cases and test data from graphical models. The tool is designed for seamless integration into a variety of existing test processes. Instead of providing just another UML-like model editor, MBTsuite interfaces with various existing modeling tools. To ease the handling of the modeling tool and to support MBT-specific modeling, sepp.med developed a plug-in tool called “MBTassist,” which provides a user interface to enter any parameter required by MBTsuite. It is available for Sparx Systems, Enterprise Architect, and IBM Rational Rhapsody.

The main body of design specification work, especially building models and processing data, is done on Rational Rhapsody. Rational Rhapsody is a modelling tool produced by IBM, provides a reliable solution for system modelling and design based on Harmony methodology and SysML(Rott et al. (2018)). The design specification work under the guidance of the double V framework and the triple V framework, respectively, were carried out and compared to reflect the benefit brought by triple V framework for product development.
