The data literacy dimension is shaped by technical and creative skills. From a technical point of view, skills related to analytics, problem-solving, and programming are some of the main skills for any digital transformation project. Skills related to cognitive abilities like innovation and creation are also essential to balance out the previous skills. Ultimately, external digital resources are also very important because, in many situations, organizations will not have all the necessary digital resources in-house. As a result, developing strategic partnerships and cooperation with their network is a critical point for the success of a digital transformation project. Doing so will imply knowledge integration, co-creation, and continuous learning.

Typically, data literacy involves understanding what data mean, including how to read graphs and charts appropriately, how to draw correct conclusions from data, and how to recognise when data are being used in misleading or inappropriate ways. Data literacy is a specific skill set and knowledge base that enables students to transform data into information and ultimately into actionable knowledge (Mandinach et al., 2008).
