Taking a microcantilever beyond the thermal detection limit in fluid environments would be beneficial to real-time study of biological entities. This section presents a nano-scale thick cantilever, where, under externally driven dynamic conditions, vastly improves the mass detection sensitivity.130 More specifically, this cantilever will be able to detect the mass of a single vaccinia virus, which is a member of Poxviridae family and forms the basis of the smallpox vaccine.61
An XNOR-ResNet and spatial pyramid pooling-based YOLO v3-tiny algorithm for Monkeypox and similar skin disease detection
Published in The Imaging Science Journal, 2023
The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently declared Monkeypox disease as a medical emergency and alerted the medical agencies of the world to keep an eye on the spread of the disease [1]. Recently, the spread of Monkeypox disease has been reported by medical agencies of Europe, America, and Australia [2]. The Monkeypox disease is a skin disease that is communicable from human to human and can spread rapidly if precautions are not taken in due time. The Monkeypox disease was first reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the year 1970 [3]. The reports [4, 5] suggest that Monkeypox disease has its roots in animals and was first communicated from animals to humans. The Monkeypox disease belongs to the family of Poxviridae virus [6] which is considered a most dangerous family of viruses to humans. The symptoms of Monkeypox disease are similar to Smallpox disease [3]. In Monkeypox, the skin of a person gets a lesion near the genitals or any other part of the body like hands, neck, face, or feet. Initially, the Monkeypox disease was restricted to nomadic regions of the African continent but now in the last few months, it is spreading across urban areas as well and putting the healthcare system under a stress. The initial visible symptoms of Monkeypox are closely related to Chickenpox where it is difficult for medical practitioners to determine the type of disease a patient is diseased with by investigating the lesion alone.
