The theme of the 116th Virtual Annual Meeting of the American Sociological Association is ‘Emancipatory Sociology: Rising to the Du Bosian Challenge’, and will explore the differing purposes of Sociology and demonstrate how the discipline can simultaneously be a rigorous science whilst acting as a catalyst for social change.
